How to delete page code without text?

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with page code. Somehow the TOC code appeared in my
document and I typed and formatted text in it. Then I realized that all my
text is a code. Is there any way I can delete the code but save the text and
formatting?

You can use cut and paste to move the text that you inadvertently added
inside the field code. Then use Alt+F9 to hide the field codes of your
document (the command is a toggle). Update the TOC.

I tried but it didn't help. The text is rather complicated with section
breaks. If I cut it and paste in a separate document it takes the TOC code
too.
