How to display PWA My Tasks, in PWA Projects "Task" List ?

We’ve published a project in Project Web Access that was created in Project
2007. The project that we published has the tasks setup, and the resources
assigned to these task, along with the Duration, Start, & Finish dates . The
problem I’m running into is that the task that are setup in the Project, will
show up automatically in the users (resources) “My Tasks†window if they
have been setup as the “Resource Name†for that task, but do not show up
automatically in the “Tasks†window that is displayed when you click on a
project from the initial screen at login. Now I do have the ability to
create “tasks†from the Projects PWA Task’s Screen , but would like to the
assigned tasks within the project created in Project, to be assigned
automatically as they are for the users under their “ My Tasks†. Is there a
way of setting wither PWA, Project Server, to import these into the general
“Tasks†list within the Project in PWA?
Or maybe there is another way to see a list of all the assigned tasks for
all resources, included Status, Start, Finish( Due) Dates, Description , etc
?

My friend, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Let me
give you a little more information about how Project Server 2007 works, and
then you can restate your question(s) in light of this explanation:

1. When you publish an enterprise project, each resource assigned to tasks
in the project will see his/her own tasks on the My Tasks page in PWA.
2. Each resource can update their task progress from the My Tasks page in
PWA and submit the progress to their PM for approval.
3. Each resource can propose new tasks from the My Tasks page, and submit
the proposed new tasks to their PM for approval.
4. The PM can add new tasks to the project using the Project Professional
2007 application.

Now, if we are going to help you, you will need to explain better what you
need to do or see. And you need to state explicitly WHERE you want to do
something in the system, such as in the Project Center page, a Project
Details view, or the Resource Center page. Let us know and we will try to
help.

Hello Dale,

Sorry if I was confusing with the question. Let me rephrase it, is
there a location in PWA where I can list all the task, that are assigned to
everyone, for a particular project. If there is, does this screen display
the status, % completed, description , start/end dates as well ?

Ah, your question is much more precise! :) And the answer is: Yes! Your
Project Server administrator can add the Resource Names field to the Summary
view for Project details in PWA. He/she can add other fields as needed, or
even create a new custom Project view. Hope this helps.

Just a follow-up comment, since Dale has already addressed your main concern.

The "My Tasks" and "Tasks" lists are two separate beasts. Project Server is
responsible for populating "My Tasks." Since "Tasks" is a SharePoint list
within a project workspace, it is handled separately from the actual project
task items.

Another way to look at it: "My Tasks" are actual project plan task
assignments; "Tasks" within a project workspace are activities which need to
be accomplished for the project but are not specific to one project plan task
assignment or another from a sense of tracking project hours.

I hope this helps!
