How to dynamically move contents to a text area

I have created a calendar using a table. I would like to move contents of a
file to a text area when a calendar day is clicked. I have created an
onclick method for a day but cannot figure out how to read data from another
..htm page and put it into the text area. Can someone help.

Create a frameset with the calendar in one frame and the
text file in the other.
