how to get microsoft word

Buy it. It is NOT a free download. If all you need is a basic word
processor, try WordPad - it should be on your computer under
Start>>Programs>>Accessories.

The cheapest legal way I've found is to buy a copy of MS Works Suite
that contains Word. It's even cheaper if you buy an old version, ie,
if you don't need the latest version of Word. For example, Word 2000
and even Word 97 work quite well for most people. Check various
"reliable" outlets for the older version of Works Suite. I've found
these folks pretty reliable, but I'm sure there are others:

For example, they have MS works Suite 99 OEM (contains Word 97) for
$12.00, and I think shipping is included.
