How to highlight entire task line for critical path

Is there a way to have the entire task line, not just the gantt chart,
highlighted in red, if it is on critical path?

Thanks.

Sorry, I need to be more clear.

Can it be done automatically, as the gantt chart automatically highlights in
red the critical path.

Thanks

Hi,

Once you've set it it is automatic.
You could have done it, you would have known.

.....still not sure I am asking the question clearly .... not sure I
understand your response ".... once I set it, it is automatic...." .... set
what?

What I am trying to find out is .... prior to switching to a view of the
critical path, can I set up something so that when the gantt chart is
highlighting in red the critical path, the entire activity line is also
highlighted in red?

Thanks,

Hi bp827,

Pardon me for jumping in. I assume you wish to color the background of
the task table (left side) in red. (Similar to background fill in
Excel.) I'm afraid that is not possible.

The instructions that Jan gave you would color the text for critical
path tasks red in the task table. By using the Text Styles command, as
Jan said, the text would automatically be colored red.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Sorry to barge in.
When you follow the path Jan described, you select "Critical Tasks" in the
drop down menu at the top of the dialog box that opens. Then change to color
to red (or anything else desired).

This means that even if you critical path changes, the color of only the
critical tasks font will be red, the non-critical tasks will automatically
change to the color that is specificed for them in the same dialog box
(Format/Text Styles). So, if a task was non-critical (black) and then
suddenly went critical the font will automatically change to red based on
Jan's suggestion.

This process (Format/Text Styles) is different from (Format/Font) which
would only change the color of one specific line without regard to its status
of critical/non-critical.

correctly and with the help of Jim's detailed description .... I got it.
Thanks again. Brian
