How to increase number of characters for a data field in Project

I want to increase the number of characters I can type in a data field of my
project.

All fields in Project have a 255 character limit except for the Notes field
which can handle several thousand characters. There is no way to increase
the number of characters in these fields...

Are you wanting to exceed 255? Or are you needing to wrap text in a field on
a report?
