How To: Logging into Project 2002 Pro Under a Different Windows Account?

Hello!

Could somebody provide information on the following issue?

I am logging into Windows 2000 domain as a Windows 2000
user. This could be a local, non-domain login as well.

I then open up Project 20002 Professional.

Project 2002 then assumes that that user who started
Project 2002 is DOMAIN_NAME\myusername or
COMPUTER_NAME\myusername (for a non-domain login).

Apparently, Project 2002 checks environmental variable %
username% and reads its content.

One can see the username Project 2002 assumed I want to
run it as in Collaborate-->Collaboration Option-->
Collaborate tab.

On this tab look under Identification for Microsoft
Project Server and you will see your username.

The question I have is HOW to log into Window 2000 as ONE
user and open up Project 2002 as ANOTHER user.

Is there any way to change account in Project 2002 or
override it or have Project 2002 ask for user account?

I have tried creating new accounts in Project 2002 Pro
under Tools-->Enterprise Options-->Microsoft Project
Server Accounts. Once I set up my colleague's domain user
account and had the colleague of mine to open up Project
2002 Pro, select his domain account we got a message to
the effect that Enterprise Features are NOT enabled.

Note: I am NOT running any MS SQL database. No enterprise
features are enabled. My setup includes MSDE only.

I would greatly appreciate your response.

Thank you,

You are experiencing the correct operation of Project
2002. If you want to logon as another user, you can do
this but you will have to set up using SSL in order to do
so. However, this actually defeats the project security
that has been set up to avoid misusing the tool.

You could also set up a Project Server account to log on
with differing permissions to test new views, etc.
