How to make changes to the templates that users are using

Hi List,

I created a Word template which contains forms for user to enter some
research information then allow user to save to a folder that they
want to save. Recently i modified this template and added more
functions to it. And I need to update these templates from user's
desktop. Most users have created more than one file by using this
template. And this is first word template I wrote. I am not sure in
this case, does that mean user has more than one template in their
machine with the same template name? And if update, I need to update
all of them? can i write a macro to find and replace all the old
version templates? or are there any other ways to handle this?
