How to Make Headings Instead of Tasks...

Hi...

I would like to make some of my rows merely organizational headings or
categories...is there any way to do that so that they don't appear in
the Calendar? Will they contribute to calculations?

Thanks...

smarf,
That's really what a summary line is. It is not a task. It is just a
summary of whatever performance tasks are under it. A summary line can
be an functional identifier with all the performance tasks performed by
that functional organization.

To keep summary rows out of the display, Gantt or Calendar, filter out
the Summary field.

Do summary lines "contribute to calculations"? No. Summary lines show
the results of calculations (e.g. Cost) or other data summary
information for the performance tasks below it.

You can't put anything but summary lines and tasks into the schedule.
Project doesn't have that capability. Anything you put in those fields,
including blank rows, will be interpreted by Project as a task and cause
you a lot of grief.
Hope this helps in your world.
