How To Make Publisher Print Correctly?

She's a bit of a dog this Publisher thing, isn't it? I am trying to make
an Award Certificate. I can only print out in black and white to check
what's happening. I've chosen a template that is intended for printing on
bordered paper. I expect the printers I use for the job to be able to provide
that.

My clip art and my wordart created 'stamp' both seem to print in dots like
a newspaper - pixelated I suppose that is. From bitmap images without enough
pixels? Is that right?

Useless to me in that case. Where do create images that I can import to the
document and which will be 'dotless', i.e. real pictures? Please don't say
'anywhere', I'd like to know the prog of choice.

Remembering that the 'stamp' or 'seal' image such allow the underneath to
show through when I place it on the document, just like a real stamped seal
does.

AND - when I try my sample prints it always prints four pages, though all I
want is one A4 page and that's what my print preview shows.

AND there are these 'angle' marks in the corner of each page, perhaps
indicating where the fancy border would be - well I don't think I need those
either.

AND the whole document on the first page (before the three blanks) is set
too far towards the bottom of the page. How do I alter that, lift it up a bit?

Much appreciate any help anyone may be able to give.

regards,

ab

You left out what version Publisher you are using. It would be helpful to know.
The printer interface is different in 2007 than in any other version.

I don't think your commercial printer will be able to supply the PaperDirect
special papers. I'm not even sure they are available in your area.
www.paperdirect.com The border will never print with these templates, it is a
hard coded item. You do have a .gif representation in the Publisher folder. They
are in a folder similar to this:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\1033\PUBSPAPR

You are seeing crop marks on your printout. You will have to click the advance
print settings in the print setup dialogue to turn them off.

You can use your Clip Organizer to use .wmf images. They will not pixilate.
Insert, clipart...

You can create a stamp/seal with autoshapes.

What printer are you using?
