How to merge individual Publisher files into a single document?

Struggling

I want to e-mail about 500 individaul one page files and need to find a way
to merge them into a single document. I am not familiar with catalog merge.
Is this the way to go?

Are these 500 files separate publications? When you finish combining them will
the result be a 500 page document?
