How to open template file in MS Frontpage

Hi

I have uploaded templates files with extension .Stp but every time I
open it it launches text file and it is unreadable, I dont understand
why it wont open the file within MS front page.

..stp? isn't that for a cad extension?
what are you trying to do exactly?

You can not just import or use any template file in FP, you have to use a template that was
created/designed to work with FP.

Sorry

I have downloaded a site template from microsoft site called
Helpdesk_Basic.stp. I uploaded the template on the site. What I would
like to do is to view this file in Frontpage 2003.

First time when I opened the file there was a message box asking me
which program I wanna use to open and I stupidly clicked on Notepad,
now I want it to open in frontpage and I dont seem to be able to undo
my mistake.

The template is a Windows SharePoint Services one requiring a hosted Windows 2003 server running WSS (not the FP Server Extensions)
- you don't upload it to the FP site, you install it in WSS in the OS
