how to publish a solution ( custom template , stencils ) in visio

Hi,

I have a custom template and stencils. I want visio 2003 to automatically
list the custom template in template list.

I created a msi file and used visio solution publishing tool to generate
publish component table entries in the msi file as per the document. After
installing the msi file, the same is not reflected in the visio 2003. I'm not
able to find the custom template in the template list.

Any pointers would be of great help

Thanks in advance

Thanks,
Kumar

What's your locale? I did a solution aimed primarily at the US and Germany
and ended up adding duplicates of the template in the .MSI file. With the
solution publishing component, I then had to mess with the country-code
settings: 1033 for U.S., 1031 for Germany. There's a field for each entry in
the tool.

Also, You have to horse around with the leading "\". I can never remember if
you need it or shouldn't have it.

Hopefully these are some hints to get you going.

Of course, I think the "proper" way is to use the Orca tool to add entries
for every language/culture you can think of that all point to your
default-language stencils/templates.

I'm not sure why MSI/Publish Component doesn't support a "default language"
of some sort. There are many folks that only have the resources to develop
in one language, and expect all customers to adapt to that language or
simply not use the product. If there is a way to do that, I hope someone
responds, because I haven't found it yet.

Hope this helps,
