That fix has been posted but under a different subject. Thanks for pointing
out that their question was not the same of the usual registration questions
we get asked.

Hi Martin,

The Setup Assistant Loop is a problem with SP1. Only one person on this
thread posted after SP1 was released, "elli", and I'm pretty sure that
isn't the problem she describes (although it may be that she describes a
problem totally different from the problem she has). So--yeah, the issue
was understood fine.

I'm surprised, that when searching for information on your problem, you
did not find any of the threads that specifically mention the setup
assistant loop and the fix, as they are there. This thread is only very
vaguely related to your problem, in that it deals with installation issues.

Why won't registration form accept the product ID that is presented in the About box? How do I find the product ID? I don't see an ''about'' option when I go to Office 08 (installed today on my macbook)

The Product Key also called CD Key is on a yellow or bright orange sticker
on the CD package. This is used when you install your software.

The Product ID is given during the Setup Assistant process. The Product ID
will look like this: 11111-130-0001111-12345). It is used to register. Write
this Product ID down or take a screen snap.

"Registration" has nothing to do with the operation of the software - unlike
the Activation required for MS Windows software. It's little more than a
marketing tool. It will put you on a Microsoft email list. You can sign up
for the newsletter without registering.

How do you get Office Mac 2008 to work. I reinstalled it and it wont open any files unless you register. I register and it doesn't do anything but take me to Mactopia. I cannot open any word files at all. I have to use Pages to read everything. WHY DOESN'T IT WORK. Dont tell me you don't have to register, or some mailing list BS, because every time I click finish Word closes. I try to reopen it does an autoupdate and the process starts all over again. I need answers.
