How to remove an old program from Menu Command?

B

boghound

I've uninstalled Omnipage 15 and installed Omnipage 16 but still have
Omnipage 15 link "import text" in the "Menu Commands" in Word 2007. Any idea
how to remove it?

Well that was the theory - the practice suggests that it is still present.
I don't know what sort of add-in Omnipage uses, but you may find an add-in
template in the Word 2007 start-up folder, the location of which Omnipage
installer probably knows nothing about.

It was uninstalled using the Omnipage uninstaller!!

The links do not do anything,,,They are just there above the new Omnipage 16
links. Where has M/S hidden the Word 2007 Start-up folder this time?

The links cannot do anything because you have uninstalled the program.

The startup folder location is defined in Word Options > Advanced > File
Locations > Startup

I suspect you are going to have to take the problem to Omnipage, however
first go to Word Options > add-ins and see if the add-in is listed. See what
type it is. If it is a COM add in use the manage COM add-ins to remove it.
If it is a template add-in see which path it is running from and remove it.

I had the same problem in Word 2003 but there I was able to delete it from
the toolbar command window. I thought Office 2007 was supposed to be more
user friendly.....Yeh Right.
