how to remove word 2000

Dave

Hi !

I use win xp pro and office 2000. I decided to install
office xp and uninstalled office 2000 but I got stuck
with Word 2000. After I uninstalled office 2000 in
add/remove programs. However Word 2000 still remains
shortcut on desktop. I tried to delete it but it states
that I need to uninstall in add/remove programs. Even
though office 2000 already removed in add/remove
programs. So I decided to ignore it and installed
office xp and I can't open word xp. I then uninstalled
office xp but word 2000 still on desktop but no list in
add/remove programs.

Can any one help me remove word 2000 before installing
office xp ?

Thanks

Did this computer come with a version of Works on it that included Word
2000? If yes, try uninstalling Works.

Some versions of the Works Suite include Word, and are supplied preinstalled
by sys supplier.
If installed I would imagine it would be listed in add/remove dialoge as
'Works Suite'
