If you have a license that allows you to install Office on a desktop and
laptop, then all you need to do is install it (run setup) on the laptop.

I downloaded Office 2007 Home and Student to my desktop and am told that the
licence covers three computers. I suppose I have to download again to my
laptop and then enter my licence code. Right? Many thanks.

Assuming your license allows it, insert the disk and follow the directions.

If the downloaded file is not too large, transfer it to the laptop using a
USB Flash drive. You may not be allowed to download the file multiple times.

You can transfer it via flash drive or burned to a CD.
