How to setup a max work day for a resource

I have a project which requires 100 days work (Fix work task). I have
several resources available, and I want to set up a max work day they
can be allocated. For example, each resource can only work no more than
40 days.
But, I can't find where to set it. there is a "Max Unit" flag but it
seems it is not what I want.
Can somebody give me a hint.

First of all, is that a 100 man-days WORK or 100 days DURATION task? There
is a vast difference. Work is the effort required while duration is the
time period over which the work is performed and to give a meaningful answer
to your question we need to know exactly what you mean when you say it's a
100 day task.

Sorry, I did not say it clear.
I mean a projects requires 100 man-days work, and each resource can
only afford no more than 40 man-days work.

While the max availability says that your resource can only devote XX
percentage of his workday or workweek to project tasks, there's really no
way to cap it at some finite number of total hours that can't be exceeded.
But what will happen if the resources have all done their maximum of 40
man-hours each and it turns out the task still isn't finished ... what will
happen then? Do you just abandon it?
