how to stop compressing files in xp

i have problems in xp wherein - the zip files are being expanded in explorer
thereby making my pc slower

i want to stop xp displaying and compressing files
any suggestions do email me at (e-mail address removed)

Click Start | Run | type "regsvr32 /u zipfldr"
Download and use WinZip as an alternative.
