HTML and freeze

Is there are reason that I (and others in my family) get so many freezes
when opening an HTML e-mail message? I am using an iMac, OS 9.2.2.
Outlook 5.0.6. I have allotted 3x the required memory to the application.

Though the Outlook doesn't freeze, I do also have problems with HTML
messages. Only the text, plus some HTML code appears, but the actual layout
of the HTML message doesn't. Is this problem related, and does anybody know
how to resolve it?

You are using Outlook Express for the Mac (5.0.6). This
forum is for Outlook, which is a different product (email
program for businesses running MS Exchange server).
