Hyperlink in ppt 2003

Has anyone seen a message, when trying to open a hyperlink
that says, "can not download the information you
requested?" It's really annoying!

I'm getting the same message when I try to open a
hyperlinked Word document after loading the presentation
from the command line. If I just load ppview32, then run
the presentation from within the user interface it seems
to work.
