Hyperlinks don't work when document is forwarded via email?

My Hyperlinks work fine in my "Word" letter, however when I attempt to send
the letter via email, the Hyperlinks will not open. What am I doing wrong?

What version of Word are you using?

Do the Hyperlinks work in File=>Web Page Preview?

Do they work in an email you send to yourself?

Are they pointing to websites or locations on your
hard drive?
