Try this: open IE and click Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Rset Web
Settings.

I am running IE 7 (7.0.5600.16384) and Outlook 2007(12.0.4407.1004).

When I go to Internet Options, Programs, there is not an option to "Reset
Web Settings".

I am not able to open any hyperlinks on the system.

Thanks in Advance

I'm having the same problem. I have Vista Business and Outlook 2007. Just
switched from cable to DSL with AT&T. I also installed Pack 1. When I try
to open hyperlinks I get the msg: General Failure: The URL was: .....
Application not found. I tried to go to Reset Web Settings, but it wasn't
there. Any ideas? Thanks

I have that problem, but it now tells me that I can't open any link because
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator." I am the system
administrator and sole user. Any reason that this might have happened? I goof
around with adding and deleting programs, so something might have been
deleted . But repairing Outlook didn't help... I'm at a loss. Thanks.

I have tried all of the suggestions I can find in Discussion groups, and even
tried to uninstall and reinstall Office... no luck. This is very
frustrating. Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot Brian. The whole problem was related to uninstalling af Google
Chrome. The link you provided did the trick.

The thread is over 4 YEARS OLD (with an update over 1-1/2 YEARS AGO by
another post who tried to hijack the old thread but didn't notice or care
about the datestamps). No need to chime in with a "me too" reply on an
ancient thread.
