I wish to include an internal hyperlink in my presentation.

Can I change the name appears on my slide?

example:
instead of C:\My Documents\wood\Codes October 2004.xls
can I change my slide to say : Oct codes?

If this can be done - how?
Thanks

to change the name on your slide you will need to change the name of the xls
file first then relink the document to ppt.

There are several different things you might be asking. You can always
change the text that appears on your slide. If you want to link to an
Excel file, type some text (such as Oct codes), highlight the text, go to
the Insert menu, and choose Hyperlink. Note that if you are moving the
file to another computer (for example, to present it), you will want to
make sure the Excel file is in the same folder as the PowerPoint file
before linking, and you will want to make sure you move both the
PowerPoint file and the Excel file to the other computer.

If you are talking about the screen tip that shows up (the little yellow
box with text that shows up when you move the mouse over the link), you
can change that, too. Right click on the hyperlink and choose "Edit
Hyperlink" from the menu that pops up. In the upper right hand corner of
the dialogue box, you should see a button for "Screen tips." Click on
that and type whatever you want to appear in the dialog box.
