Hyphenation in 2003

I have been able to set default new text box attributes, such as font,
size etc. One thing this feature doesn't include is hyphenation.
I do not wish to hyphenate text in any text boxes.
Is this possible (other than turning it off each time after adding a
new text box)
Thanks to anyone who can help
Gary

Tools > Options > Edit > Hyphenation?

Thanks Ed,
Something weird is happening here.
If I start Publisher & a new publication, with the option turned off,
adding a new text box,it is OK.
If I open an existing publication (which came from someone running
Publisher 2000, which I am using as a template for a monthly
newsletter) and add a new text box, it always gets hyphenation, no
matter what the option in Tools>Options>Edit is set to.
Any ideas
Thanks

This is because Publisher saves this preference data with the file, and your
colleague/friend's Publisher 2000 is set to hyphenate. Probably.

Thanks Ed,
Is there a way I can change this preference, or will I have to
recreate the document from scratch, to stop the hyphenation?

Thanks Mary,
but I'm trying to stop hyphenation on all new text boxes when they are
added to the document.

This option is already cleared.
I have taken a publisher 2000 document from someone & am using it as a
template for a monthly newsletter. I have been able to set default
font, size etc. for any new text boxes, but no matter what I do, I
always to have go to Tools/language/hyphenation for each new text box
& turn it off ... starting to drive me crazy!

This is the Microsoft suggestion when it involves tabs, it might work with
hyphenation as well, at least it is worth a try:
1.Start Publisher 2002 or Publisher 2003.
2.Create a blank, full-page publication.
3.On the Tools menu, click Options.
4.Click the Saves tab.
5.Click to clear the Allow background saves check box.
6.Click OK.
After you have saved the publication one time in the Publisher 2002 file format or in
the Publisher 2003 file format, you can click to select the Allow background saves
check box again.

If you have the Publisher 2000 document open in Publisher 2002 or in Publisher 2003,
and if you have made changes to the publication that you do not want to lose, you can
save the publication under a different name in the Publisher 2000 file format. Follow
these steps:
1. On the File menu, click Save as.
2. Change the name of the publication.
3. In the Save as type list, click Publisher 2000 file (*.pub).
4. Click Save.

Note You must use this method every time that you save the publication if you want to
retain the custom tabs or the file format.

Good luck!

Thanks Mary
With your help I appear to have the problem solved! by doing the
following:
1. Opened the document
2. Saved as a new name and as Pub 2000 type, & closed Publisher.
3. Opened the new document
4. Saved as a new name as Pub 2003 type & closed Publisher.
5. Opening this new document. Adding new text boxes, I see that
hyphenation is not ocurring automatically.

Thanks again for your help
Gary

Hey Gary, Thanks for the feedback. I have saved your solution for future reference. I
am certain it will come up again.
