I am importing slides but the format won't go away when saved

I imported a slide from a different location and then made changes in a
different power point same version. I saved the changes to my presentation
but when I open it my words that I shrunk earlier expand back off the
slide.........I guess the slide kept the word sizes from its old power point
presentation it was in..........How do I fix this? I have Power Point 2003

if you created your presentation using a master slide,
you will be able to use the "apply slide layout" option.
When you're in the Slide Layout diaglog box, click on the
layout you want to use. Then click on the drop down menu
and click "reapply layout." The text will revert to the
master layout.
