I can not see my graphics in Word unless I print preview or print

Can anyone help me. When I insert a graphic into word I can see the text box
and the outline of the image box but can not see the graphic unless I print
preview or print the document. It must be some sort of setting that is wrong
in my config?
Help, thanks...

On the View tab of Tools | Options, make sure you have "Drawings" checked
and "Picture placeholders" NOT checked.
