i cannot install office 2003

i have the installation cd of office 2003 and i use windows xp professional.
when i try to install office 2003 it says to check whether the package is
avalid installer package and contact the vendor....

i tried updating the installer 3.1 for win xp but the prob. still persists.
is there any way out to install

I NEED THE SOLUTION URGENTLY>>>>>>
