I CAN'T GET A FILE TO OPEN THE EDIT

I FINISHED A FILE IN MY EXCEL PROGRAM AND NOW WHEN I PULL IT UP, IT WON'T LET
ME OPEN THE EDIT COMAND.

What do you see ?

If you need some suggestions on disabling your caps lock key
I can give you instructions for disabling both desktop keyboards and
for laptops. In the meantime please turn it off.

have you activated your version of Excel?

can you make changes to a cell & save it?
what functionality were you going to use under the edit menu?
