I have been using Windows update for years, and suddenly I get a message
telling me to go the MAC site to update my PC. My operating system is XP. Can
someone tell me how I can correct this issue.

Thanks

Little correction. What you have actually just said is *it thinks my PC is a
Media Access Control address" because that's what MAC means when written as
a capitalised acronym. If you are meaning a Macintosh computer then it's
spelt 'Mac'.

Please note the distinction - it's important.

I am having the same problem with Widows AND Office updates. I get the
message on Office
"Sorry, the Office Update site does not support Office for Mac Help

Office for Macintosh updates can be found on the Mactopia site."

Yes, it does think it's a Mac, not a MAC, your answer is no help, because I
still cannot correct the situation.
