Publisher??

"Easier" depends entirely on what you're doing

For a newsletter-type publication, Publisher IMO is by far the easier of the
two.

You might want to look at the free PagePlus SE from
www.freeserifsoftware.com as an alternative, if you don't already have
Publisher.

Just my opinion, Harriet. I think the only advantage Publisher has over
Word is that Pubilisher has many more templates for different kind of
publications available. Word is very powerful and versatile in itself with
many templates of its own. I would suggest that if you can do what you want
in Word, there's no real reason to acquire Publisher. However, it there are
more and different types of publications (and more specific publications you
might be interested in) try Publisher. I have both and use both, and have
to admit that there is a lot of redundancy, but a lot that makes each
different as well. It's your call.

I would *strongly* disagree with this statement. Publisher has a lot of
advantage over Word for layout work, especially when you go into the realms
of anywhere near a complicated design.

ANY DTP program is going to be easier to use than Word, unless one knows
Word real well. I use to do newsletter in the program (V6) and it was a
snap. Don't be so quick to write off Word, especially if the OP doesn't
have the funds to buy a new program or the time to learn it.

I heartily agree with Ed. I wouldn't begin to try these newsletters in Word:
http://www.myscacc.org/newsletters.htm They have all been converted to pdf
to enable all to read and it also reduces file size.
