I get news, no mail

I have an existing account, and identity.
I wanted to change my identity, and form another mailbox.
I can get newsgroups, which is good, but I can't get another mail box to
work.
I can't send, and I can't recieve.
What is the deal, what am I doing wrong?
How do I make it work?

Identities do not exist in Outlook. Therefore, you must be referring to
Outlook Express. Ask your question in an Outlook Express newsgroup.
