Hi Charles,
I don't think it's the posting or offering of ToolbarToggle itself, but perhaps the way it's presented here that leaves it more
open to negative interpretation/perception than you may have expected

. An apparent 'anonymous posting'
- "va" <
[email protected]> -
with no ownership or signature at the bottom may not engender trust, or the interest in the product.

It's also a bit odd to have
an anonymous posting when to get the trial folks have to provide a valid email address on the website <g>. I'm guessing "va" would
be,
http://venturearchitects.com, your company, parent of the ToolbarToggle product.
It's not the ToolbarToggle product itself you wrote created that's an issue. It was nice to see a 'floating' toolbar in Word 2007
<g> I've referred folks to the product, as one of the Ribbon alternatives, in a number of postings,
pointing out the floating feature difference and to the thumbnail overview of ToolbarToggle by Word MVP Bill Coan available here
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeRibbon.htm
(it's a shame that you weren't able to also get the ToggleToolbar.com domain name to use as well <g> - I've flipped it a couple of
times <g>)
The timeliness of the postings (for example in this one it appears that you're posting in May2008 as a reply to a message posted in
Dec 2007 <g>) can also make it appear as a blanket ad/spam run.
Although you mentioned in another reply that ToolbarToggle is available as a MS download, well, actually it's a link available
through the Toolbars and menus category on
http://office.microsoft.com/marketplace you hadn't mentioned that in your postings
FWIW, I don't recall any of Patrick's postings for
http://ribboncustomizer.com having been anonymous <g>. You put a lot of work
into the product, why not put a name to it when posting
Just a thought

===============
In fact, what about all the other MVP's who have replied recommending our
software along with Patrick Schmid's Ribbon Customizer .. etc... - thats not
spam either.
Seriously - I think you are way off base and not helping the community with
options because you don't agree with them >>
