I HATE OFFICE 2007!!!!!!!!!

Can I reload Office 97 to run on the same system with Office 2007? I need to
take some online tests in Word and Excel which require exclusive use of the
toolbars and mouse...

You'd need to uninstall 2007 and then install 97. Once that is done
you could reinstall 2007 and tell it to keep the previous version of
Office.

Thanks for your response, but according to tech support - your can't install

Custom Install, to a version specific folder, only the two components you
require. I believe Word & Excel 97 work in Vista (having uninstalled 2007

Uninstall 2007 and then use the Custom install of Office 97 ONLY for Word and Excel. Make sure you do it to a specific allocated file

I HATE OFFICE 2007 too. Navigating thru Word 2007 and Excel 2007 is
disjointed and illogical. It definitely is not intuitive. Why did you
change something that worked well? Who made that decision????

Diane,

ToolbarToggle has created an add-in for Word, Excel and PowerPoint that
brings back the original Office 2003 menus and toolbars into Office 2007 for
less than $20.
Besides floating and docking the menus and toolbars anwhere, you can turn
the Ribbon on or off, turn the commandbars and menus on or off as well
REPLACE the Ribbon entirely.

Please try the demo let us know if you feel this helps solve your problems.

You can download ToolbarToggle from:
http://www.toolbartoggle.com

Thats not true.

Just becaus e you prefer the new interface doesn't make a solution people
are lookig for "spam"

You should be reported - as a former MVP myself we helped lots of people
including referring softwqare solutions.

Last of all, if its on MS Office Download site its hardly spam.

In fact, what about all the other MVP's who have replied recommending our
software along with Patrick Schmid's Ribbon Customizer .. etc... - thats not
spam either.

Seriously - I think you are way off base and not helping the community with
options because you don't agree with them

Hi Charles,

I don't think it's the posting or offering of ToolbarToggle itself, but perhaps the way it's presented here that leaves it more
open to negative interpretation/perception than you may have expected :). An apparent 'anonymous posting'

- "va" <[email protected]> -

with no ownership or signature at the bottom may not engender trust, or the interest in the product. :) It's also a bit odd to have
an anonymous posting when to get the trial folks have to provide a valid email address on the website <g>. I'm guessing "va" would
be, http://venturearchitects.com, your company, parent of the ToolbarToggle product.

It's not the ToolbarToggle product itself you wrote created that's an issue. It was nice to see a 'floating' toolbar in Word 2007
<g> I've referred folks to the product, as one of the Ribbon alternatives, in a number of postings,
pointing out the floating feature difference and to the thumbnail overview of ToolbarToggle by Word MVP Bill Coan available here
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeRibbon.htm
(it's a shame that you weren't able to also get the ToggleToolbar.com domain name to use as well <g> - I've flipped it a couple of
times <g>)

The timeliness of the postings (for example in this one it appears that you're posting in May2008 as a reply to a message posted in
Dec 2007 <g>) can also make it appear as a blanket ad/spam run.

Although you mentioned in another reply that ToolbarToggle is available as a MS download, well, actually it's a link available
through the Toolbars and menus category on http://office.microsoft.com/marketplace you hadn't mentioned that in your postings :)

FWIW, I don't recall any of Patrick's postings for http://ribboncustomizer.com having been anonymous <g>. You put a lot of work
into the product, why not put a name to it when posting :)

Just a thought :)

Hi Bob,

I never thought about the anaonymmous posting - you are correct, I just used
the standard ID I have for VentureArchitects our parent company. I guesss I
should create a separate Live ID for ToolbarToggle.

Thanks for your insight...

Charles
