I have a number of suggestions for Outlook Express, and Outloook if this
applies to it:

--A background color should PRINT as that color.

--You should be able to change the background without starting a whole new
email.

--The `alternate text' for a picture should print in place of the image when
the email is saved as a text document, ideally in square brackets. See next
sugggestion.

--in general, the *original filename* for an image should print in place of
the image when the file is saved as a text document and should be offered as
a filename when the image is being saved (rather than or in addition to the
"cid:....").

--When you ask OE to change a pasted font it should do so, period, no matter
where the text was pasted from.

--you should always be able to edit line spacing and other paragraph
formatting -something that often becomes locked in when copying and pasting
from another document.

--If you copy text and pictures from one OE email to a new outgoing one, OE
shoud be smart enought to copy the picture data into the new OE email
-including the original file name.

--If you insert the same picture twice into an OE email, OE should be smart
enough to give them unique identifiers or to point to the same data in the
email twice and show the second (or more) pictures. It doesn't show the
second (or third, etc.) identical picture.

--Some emails that are received can be saved as only eml or html. All should
be able to be optionally saved as txt.

--text saved emails should have the basic email headers saved with them.

--An html coded email should be able to be saved as text ***with principal
address headers*** as well as indicators and names (e.g. in square brackets)
of images.

--When the dialog box "Internet Explorer Script Error" which asks "Do you
want to continue running scripts on this page?" comes up you should only have
to click "Yes" or "No" ***ONCE*** instead of being locked into answering it
for every script error that Outlook Express stumbles over on the page (even
if it made it when emailing a web page). After all, the question is not `Do
you want to continue running *this script* on this page' but "*scripts* on
this page." Same with Runtime errors. One possibility is to have a "yes to
all" type dialog.

--When MSIE calls OE to send a web page, script errors, runtime errors,
etc., created in reproducng the page in the email should be eliminated.

--When an address (contact) is deleted from the Address Book (.wab file),
the cursor should then CENTER itself in the pane rather than shift everything
to the bottom as it does. Same with adding a new contact. A common Microsoft
phenomena. Perhaps a Preferences choice would be in order.

-- When Inseting a graphic into the email: double clicking a graphic should
just insert it, rather than having to click OK in the "Picture" dialog box.

--This would not be a priority, as I would consider the above to be, but you
might consder having your Spell Check work for received emails -for
verification rather than change of words.

--When sending a large email the progress bar should more accurately reflect
time until disconnect????

Regards.

This newsgroup is for Outlook only.

Background color printing is a feature of the printer handler and drivers,
as are most of your printing suggestions.

Outlook messages saved as txt do include the basic message header.

Not sure why you need to spell check received mail "for verification" - but
outlook can do it - Edit, Edit Message then spell check.

I have a number of suggestions for Outlook Express,

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003/2007 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...px?dg=microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general
Good luck!

I have a number of suggestions for Outlook Express...

You should be aware that MS Outlook Express has not been under development
since about 2006. There is no development team. There will only be security
updates for as long as Windows XP is supported. After that, it will be
totally obsolete.

...and should further be aware that this is an Outlook newsgroup, not Outlook
Express ;-)
