I have office 2000 standard, is it upgradable to 2003?

I want to upgrade from 2000 to 2003 on my desktop, and I also want to install
it on my new laptop. I am a law student, and I ordered the student edition,
but I wonder if it is smarter to upgrade my standard 2000 edition. I can't
seem to figure out how to do this on the microsoft website, and I am not sure
if it will give me 2 licenses so I can also install on my laptop...

Any advice?

The Office 2003 upgrade EULA allows installation on one desktop and one
laptop for your use etc. Read the EULA for full details.

Clarify "student". Office 2003 has a edition called Office 2003 for
Students and Teachers {containing the same applications as Office
2003Standard Edition}. The EULA for this edition allows installations on up
to three computers for family non-commercial use etc. Again read the EULA
for full details. Microsoft also has academic licenses for Standard,
Professional etc. I do not know the installation limits for academic
licenses.

The EULAs for retail versions of Office 2003 are located here:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/eula/en.mspx
