I need a tick not an "X"

How do I use a tick instead of an X in a form I'm automating? Is there
character I can use from the system font or an asc code or something

Take a look at how it is done in the Fax templates that come with Word.

Hi

I would have liked to look at this code but when I opened up a fax document
from 'new' in Word and clicked on macros and then 'this doc', but there was
no code.

As there are fields and boxes in the form, I assume that the code is
somewhere but where?

Thanks

How come my Thread appears under your name Doug? Isn't that a littl
confusing?

Anyway I also posted this on Experts Exchange and they came back wit
the following code.

Code
-------------------

Selection.InsertSymbol Font:="Wingdings", CharacterNumber:=-3842, Unicode:=True

-------------------

Ok so the fax template has similar functionality. But how do I captur
it. I can't do it through the Macro recorder as it doesn't capture th
VBA for mouse events

Actually just realise that it a Field code linked to a macro

Code:
--------------------

WordBasic.WW7_EditAutoText Name:="Checked Box", Context:=1, InsertAs:=0, Insert

--------------------

So I can put these field codes in my document, and the code in my
template and either the user can click on them or I can update them
through a VBA form myself.
