I need the TIMESHEET in MY TASKs

Hi,

Is that possible to see the timesheet at "MY TASKS" options in EPM2007
to assign hours day by day, like EPM2003?

I see that the EPM2007 has TIMESHEET and MY TASKS distinct, and I
could importat tasks from projects to TIMESHEET, but I couldn´t assing
hour in TIMESHEET view and than reflect at project.

RESUME: I need a view same EPM2003 when I have in MY TASKS the
TIMESHEET. IS it possible?

You're not the only one who wants that!

But in the meantime, not only can you import tasks into timesheets, but you
also can/must import timesheets into My Tasks. I'd give more detail, but our
My Tasks page is broke right now...

mpaulo:

Click on the name of the task in the Timesheet. The task details page
contains a time sheet grid where you can enter your time without using
timehsheets. Your server must be configured correctly for the task details
page to show this option.

Hi Gary,

But I think I can´t explian very well. I need see the TIMESHEET when I
click on MY TASKS, like PWA2003. I need see like this:

Left
Window
Right Window
TASK NAME START FINISH ASSIGN % COMPLETE ||TIMESHEET
with time scale day

Do you understand. The EPM2007 have this view?

If I understand you want the look and feel of the timesheet but you need to
import the data into tasks. We had the same issue and didn't believe we could
reliably have our 350 resouces do the manual import into tasks. We were able
to develop (actually still putting the polish on it) an event handler that
does the import into tasks and submission to PM for approval when the user
submits their timesheet. To our end users they just see it as updating their
timesheet.

Bill,

I would be very interested in this type of solution (i.e. event handler
managing the task update and submission). Can you provide more detail on how
to??

Send me an email at (e-mail address removed). My developer is very
helpful, possibly too much so for his own good, and I'd rather not publish
his direct contact info without his express agreement.

No, that view does not exist in 2007. The best is what I told you. You can
also take Bill's suggestion to customize the system.

I believe the setting Gary was talking about was to go to:
1. Admin page
2. Time and Task Management
3. Task Settings and Display
4. Ensure "Time entry by timesheet only" is deselected in Protect User
Updates section
Then if you click on the task in My Tasks, you'll get a popup window where
you can put in the time.

Yes, that and make sure that the system is configured to accept time
reported each day. Selecting the "Time Entry by Timesheet Only" causes the
remaining work fields to lock, so be careful about using this feature until
this is corrected in SP1.

I have another question!

Still talking about tasks.
When resources assign their real work on MY TASKS view, send to the
project manager for his aproval. The project manage aproves the works.
That´s ok.
But when he open the project professional to be sure that the hours
are efectivelly there, the real work appears nothing! There´s no hour
on the respective task.
The hours were assign by the resources, aproved by the project
manager, but they dont appear! It seems thats no hours were assign.
And when I got back to Aprove tasks, there are no tasks there (of
course, they were already aproved).
And on resource´s view, they are there. The same way before.

What can be happening?

Another thing: EPM 2007 has an issue with check-in time?

The first thing you need to do is check the Queue for any failed or blocked
jobs. Have you done this? It's the new first line of investigation in 2007.
