I need to recover a copy of a file I have changed

I changed document in Publisher and saved it with the name of a file I really
need. Is there anyway I can recover the original file?

Replaced (overwritten) files are non-recoverable
unless you have some type of backup.

Just for example...some versions of Vista have a
feature called Shadow Copy.
