I/O Device Error

I just got a new computer and I am trying to install Microsoft Office Student
and Teacher Edition 2003 on the new computer. The CD drive just will not
recognize the CD. I get a message that says:

"D is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O
device error."

I am able to access other CD's with software on them - but not this one.
Any ideas?

I just don't think that's an Office issue. I suspect it is a hardware issue.

Unfortunately, this did not work. Any other ideas? I have XP-Professional
and I am trying to install Office Student & Teachers 2003. I am able to
install other software from this drive and I am able to access this CD in
another computer.

You could try, in Hardware Devices, locating CD drive, uninstalling then
rebooting. See if it then works.
PS You haven't used winupdate for any hardware drivers have you?
