I have a think pad that when i turn it on it gives me an error of 161, 163.
It says that I have to reset the time, I do this and restart the computer and
then i go into MS Office. But every time i restart the computer i have to go
to the same process, would could be the problem. Thanks very much for the help

Sounds like the battery fro the real-time clock is getting low.
Take you laptop to a trusted PC repair store

And this relates to Office how, exactly?! The issue occurs before the
operating system even loads so, unless you have some wacky version that runs
from the BIOS, it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Office.

As the error codes are peculiar to IBM (and will be detailed in the manual -
and you would have found your answer had you bothered to read it) posting
them here is nonsensical - not to mention pointless.

You will need to take the unit to an authorised IBM service centre and have
the on-board CMOS battery replaced.
