You have to activate or it will stop working entirely.
If you have a retail copy of Office 2003, you can install it on two
computers (i.e., a desktop and a laptop). If you have an OEM copy, it is
limited to the hardware/computer with which you bought it, and you can't
install it anywhere else.

of Office, start Word and click on Help | Microsoft Word Help |
