If/Then statements with images???

Can I do an if/then statement with images?

For example, what would my formula be if I wanted a *.gif or *.jpg to appear
based on the results of a certain cell? I have about 3 different *.gif or
*jpg that I would want to show at one time based on the results of a cell?
