I'm not able to send photos in my e-mails

Since my father gave me his old computer, I have never been able to send
photos in an e-mail. If I try to it dumps me off line and I have to shut it
down and restart the computer. I can receive them, but not send them. Why?
and how do I fix this problem?

Hard to say without knowing any configuration details.

Common causes are;
-your picture is bigger than your ISP allows you to send
-you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook. In
case of the last, uninstall this integration component and try again.

Hi again Roady,
I went in and checked the AVG and it is set to scan incoming e-mails but not
the outgoing e-mails. Now I am even more confused because I can receive
photos just fine, but can not send them out in an e-mail at all. Also, I have
the same programs (outlook 2007 and AVG free version) on both computers that
I use and one lets me send photos in e-mails and one doesnt. I checked all
the settings that I could think of but it still hasnt fixed the problem. Can
you suggest anything else, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Hi Roady, Thanks for trying to help me.
I can send photos from my other computer using the same ISP, so I doubt that
is it.
I use AVG free version, is this the virus scanner you are referring to as
the integration unit? Sorry about my ignorance, I am still learning.

Which mail account type are you using?

Note that disabling the outgoing scanner is not the same as disabling its
integration with Outlook. You'd probably have to uninstall AVG and then
reinstall it without the email scanner component. When the virus scanner is
uninstalled (and the computer has been restarted), try sending a message
with a photo and see if it works now. This way we can determine if it is
indeed caused by the virus scanner or not.
