images not retaining size when pasted

Whenever I copy an image from Word and paste in my
Robohelp project, the image does not retain it's size. I
never had a problem with this until I recently upgraded to
Office 2003. Any suggestions? I've used the help guide and
it's not solving the problem. Thank you

There is only one way that I have ever found to get pictures out of a Word
document in their original size and resolution, and that involves using
Microsoft Photo Editor as an intermediary step (copy from Word, paste into
MPE, copy from MPE, paste into whatever app). Microsoft Photo Editor is no
longer being supplied, so you have to find an old Office installation disk
and install it from that.

the same thing, but I don't know how to use it.

Actually, you can get pretty close to the original with just Word, but the
method is a PITA if you have a lot of pictures.

The quality of the picture you copy out of Word is derived from its size
setting in Word. If you can find the "magic" setting, the blasted
"smoothing" Word imposes when displaying the picture disappears, and your
picture looks much sharper on screen--this is the time to copy and paste.
On my machine, if I change the size of the picture to 115% relative to
original size, I can get a passable (but far from perfect) picture when I
copy and paste. The colors are noticeably off, though.

I don't know if that number will be different on other systems.

This might actually work better if we could enter fractional percentages.
I think my actual magic number is 114.88%.

Hi Jen,

You may also want to post this in the Robohelp or in the
MS Help newsgroups, but it's possible that the settings in
Tools=>Options=>General=>Web Options=>Pictures may be
in play or that you've resized the graphic from it's original
when inserting it into Word?
