Import folder from OUTLOOK 2000

David

I recently upgraded Office 2000 to Office XP. Now when I
bring up Outlook all of my folders are empty. Options
under
(file)
(import and export)
(import internet mail and addresses)
do not include an option for importing from OUTLOOK, only
OUTLOOK EXPRESS.
It also did not import any of my old email account
information settings.

HELP!!

I forgot to mention that I tried that and it said that
the file (C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\backup.pst)
does not exist. I also did a search for backup.* and
*.pst and found C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst.
That file does not have my information. It did not find
any backup.pst.

Should I recrate my email account settings? Was I
suppose to backup my outlook before I upgraded? Did the
new upgrade erase the old folders with blank ones? Y
can't microsoft just rollover the damn folders- I am
upgrading from their product to their product??

FWIW, an in place upgrade will _never_ delete your data files, so there's
more going on here. Depending on how you configured the upgrade, it may have
created a new profile with a new PST file, but your old PST file will still
be on your hard drive. It takes a reformat to lose a PST file. Make sure you
enabled the search and display of hidden files and did a thorough search for
*.pst.
