import rtf files from QuarkXpress 6.0 to Microsoft Word 2004

I saved my text in Quark as rtf files and when I try to open in MSWord
2004, it will not read the file. Tried changing read document as rtf in
preferences, but that still did not open file. Any suggestions?

Are you opening by double-clicking? Try using File | Open from inside Word
instead.
