Importing a file into Access

To Whom It May Concern:

I am using Microsoft Access 97. I created a table on
Access. When I use Get External Data...Importing
option, I select an ODBC driver for *.txt delinated(|)
file. I am getting the following error.
Exception error:
access violation (0xc0000005), Address:0x77f64afa

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Try re-registering the dll files like this:
Start Run
regsvr32 msexcl35.dll
regsvr32 msxbse35.dll
regsvr32 mspdox35.dll
regsvr32 mstext35.dll

Use 40 instead of 35 for A2K and 2002.


Not really sure this will help in your case.
This trick always works when .txt fails to show up in the list at all.

If it fails, then look in MSKB for more help on your specific issue.
