importing contacts from exel to outlook 2003

Is there anyone who could tell me why my outlook 2003 is unable to import zip
codes starting with letters ?

I don't have a problem with numbers but all the zip code field with numbers
are imported empty...

thanks for any suggestion...

Try exporting a contact to excel, note how its structured/formated in excel.
See if that helps
