Importing Resourse Info

Hi. I am a relatively inexperienced Project user. I have a project that I
will need to assign resources to. The resource data I currently have is in
Excel.The excel file has 4 fields. They are:
Employee Name, Employee Email, Labor Cost Rate, Job Title
I need to be able to import this data into ms project in the resource
section. Can I do this and if so, could someone tell me how to do it? Do I
need to create the resource sheet to have the same fields in the same places
as the excel file?

Hi Jenn,

Consider: copy the fields in Excel and paste to the appropriate fields in
the View/Resource Sheet. If you want to do an import, select File/Open and
then select the xls format. Follow the instructions from the Wizard. You will
be importing Resources, likely you will append the data, and then map the
Excel fields to: Name, Email Address, Standard Rate, and likely one of the
Text(1-30) fields that will represent Position. Hope this helps.
