Importing text from excel

I have a standard contract. In it i need to input the
same information over and over again. I'd like to set up
a spreadsheet and key in the information there and then
link hte cells to the contract so that it can be filled
in automatically.
When i cut and paste special i get all sorts of layout
changes that i don't want.
Is there an easy way of achieving this?

If you paste special as an Excel Worksheet Object with the link option set,
provided there is enough room for the selected part of the table it should
come across exactly as portrayed in Excel complete with formatting.

Maybe you'd have better luck setting this up as a mail merge main document.
Even with just one record to merge, it might be simpler.
